Ernest: Expendable Guard

There were many rules involved in being an expendable guard: codes, bylaws, formalities… But they all basically amounted to the same thing: be expendable. Expendability, coined by and according to Expendable Guards International, was not a very difficult level to attain, as it required nothing more than a penchant for short-spoken-ness, mindless conformity, and complete and utter stupidity. Stupidity especially was encouraged, as few healthy, functioning brains could withstand the monotony of pacing in front of the villain's inner sanctum for more than a few hours a day.

Reading: Series of Unfortuante Events

I'm back, baby! After being laid up all week with the flu (dear old mum thinks it was Swine, since regular flu season hasn't started yet). YAY! I guess this means I officially survived the Swine Flu! Anyway, apparently my brain does strange things when I'm sick- my writing abilities function normally, hence the brand new short story, while my mathematical reasoning center shuts down (12+6=17!?).

Also, I know I obviously don't get a whole lot of people reading my stuff, or looking at my stuff... or reading my journal... well, you get the point. I'm not bothered by obscurity, but like one of those really obnoxious in-game ads, I will now attempt to advertise one of my friends to the rest of deviantArt.
